While there’s no shortage of Smart TV and 4K TV deals around right now… you might want to hold off. That’s because 4K TVs are widely-tipped to be the focus of an overwhelming number of Black Friday 2020 deals, and if you’re thinking of upgrading then you’ve been given a good reason to do so. We’re at that time of the year when major retailers are gearing up to slash prices on bucketloads of top products as sale season approaches.
First up, the Black Friday 2020 sale (which this year takes place on Friday November 27), and that will be followed swiftly by Cyber Monday with the Boxing Day sales coming a few weeks after that. Plenty of top tech will be discounted during this period, and if you’re on the hunt for a 4K TV you’ll surely find a bargain.
Last year during the Black Friday sales 4K TVs from top brands such as Samsung, LG and Sony all had their prices slashed. And you can expect similar deals to be running during Black Friday 2020 which is fast approaching.
If you’ve got an HD Ready or Full HD TV in your living room and are looking to upgrade then now could be the perfect time to do so. Prices of 4K TVs have steadily been going down over the years and the upcoming Black Friday sales are set to slash prices even further.
But if you need even more of a reason to upgrade then a new study from Which? could give you the perfect reason to take the plunge on a 4K telly.
The consumer champion has been testing hundreds of TVs over the past six years, and they’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not worth picking up a TV with a 32inch screen size or lower. While Which? does not specifically mention 4K TVs in their study, the smallest size 4K TVs typically come in at is 40inch. And 32inch or below is the size you’ll find on 1080p Full HD TVs.
Speaking about their findings Natalie Hitchins, Which? head of home products, said: “When it comes to TVs, size definitely matters – bigger models score consistently better in Which? testing but while smaller TVs are in much less demand than they used to be, there still appears to be a gap in the market for small sets that really pack a punch.
“Our advice to shoppers is to choose a larger TV that they can comfortably view, where possible. For small or occasional spaces, streaming content on a laptop or tablet may just offer a better experience than a small TV.”
Last year in the Black Friday sales a 43inch LG 4K TV could be purchased for £299, a saving of £50 on its typical asking price. Compare that to one 32inch telly – the Sony Bravia 32WD756BU – which is currently available to purchase online for £329.
In some cases, you may find a 4K telly will offer not only a better price than 32inch HD TV, but it’ll also give you more real estate for your buck. And if you’re considering getting a 4K TV the good news is you don’t have to wait for the Black Friday 2020 sales to grab a bargain.
Right now, Currys PC World is running a clearance sale offering up to 30 percent off hundreds of products. And the major high street retailer has a number of 4K tellies available at reduced prices, with free home delivery available so you don’t even have to leave your couch to pick up one.
