Along with Mileena and Rain, it was announced that Rambo would be joining via Kombat Pack 2 when Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is released on November 17, 2020. Although we haven’t had an opportunity to see Rambo in action during gameplay, it’s expected that a lot of his moves will revolve around the usage of firearms.
However, there’s more to Rambo than just being “yet another gun character” in Mortal Kombat 11. Let’s consider some possibilities outside of gun gameplay for Rambo.
Although the soldier is quite adept at straight up gunfights, sometimes a stealthy approach is necessary for him to survive. To stand a chance in climatic battles, the enemy’s numbers sometimes need to be thinned out first.
As such, the veteran has secured numerous kills throughout the movies by sneaking up on enemies and then snapping their necks. Sometimes he’ll even go the extra mile by violently ripping their throat out.
It’s easy to visualize this as a command grab in Rambo’s kit in Mortal Kombat 11. Considering how bulky this character appears to be, it seems logical to assume that he’ll be a real threat up close. One can imagine him having unblockable attacks.
Needless to say, the soldier’s ability to kill with only his bare hands has been demonstrated several times throughout the movies.
Of course, Rambo isn’t always fighting up close with just his bare hands. Unsurprisingly, he’s also an extremely skilled machete user.
Emphasizing his strength once again, Rambo has been shown to be able to decapitate an enemy with a single machete chop to the neck. Another enemy suffered greatly when Rambo slashed his stomach open, and allowed the guts to fall out.
At the conclusion of Rambo: Last Blood, he pinned another victim to the wall with arrows before moving in close with a knife. In a sheer test of his physical abilities, he then proceeded to rip into the other person’s chest with the knife before ripping his heart out.
Speaking of arrows, Rambo is deadly accurate when it comes to using a bow and arrow. I don’t think he’s ever been shown to miss his mark when it comes to firing arrows.
Rambo using a bow and arrow is basically a surefire thing at this point since the character has been depicted using this weapon on the Mortal Kombat 11 website.
It’s a fairly frequent thing to see Rambo not only using arrows, but explosive arrows. Upon hitting his targets, they tend to blow up in the films.
In at least one variation, Rambo will probably use a bow and arrow as his main projectile. The amplified version of the special will likely use an explosive arrow instead.
Finally, there’s something to be said about Rambo’s traps. Mileena almost found herself caught by one of Rambo’s traps during their debut trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.
Very often, these traps lead to spiked pits or explosives. These traps are typically meant to kill its intended victim in gruesome ways.
As such, Rambo might end up being difficult to approach in Mortal Kombat 11 depending on how he’s able to create these traps during gameplay.
