Yellowstone Official Trailer: An Economic Evolution, Betrayal, Kill or Be Killed. Are the Duttons Up for This Fight?
Jean Smart to Star in New HBO Max Dark Comedy From Mike Schur and ‘Broad City’ Trio
To commemorate former ER love interest George Clooney‘s 59th birthday on Wednesday, the relative Instagram newbie shared a vintage Doug/Carol photo from what was arguably the pair’s most memorable scene together on the NBC medical drama.
“Happy Birthday to my sweet pal George Clooney,” Margulies wrote under the throwback pic. “This picture was taken right after we filmed our very last scene together in Seattle for ER.”
The Season 6 scene in question famously featured the top-secret return of Clooney on the occasion of Margulies’ final episode as a series regular. “We knew we wanted to get them together at the end, but we wanted it to be a complete surprise,” John Wells previously told EW.com. “So I convinced Warner Bros. to give us a private jet and talked to George, and we flew up to Seattle with a very small crew that all signed pledges that they wouldn’t tell anybody.”
Margulies and Clooney would eventually return to ER for one more episode in the series’ 15th and final season.
In a recent career retrospective published on Polygon, Trank admitted that, as a relative Hollywood outsider, he had been in way over his head when he was hired to direct the 2015 reboot Fantastic Four. His first big studio picture came with responsibilities and protocols that he hadn’t anticipated, and the detail-minded director soon found himself clashing with everybody from animatic artists to his stars. Attempting to help guide him through the process was Simon Kinberg, a longtime writer and producer on Fox’s X-Men films — but in the middle of production, Kinberg helped to hook Trank up with another gig that would throw Fantastic Four‘s production into further turmoil.
Kinberg was actually a consultant for Lucasfilm at the time, and he informed Trank that the studio’s executives were interested in hearing his pitch for one of the spin-off movies they had been planning. Given only a few days to consider the offer, Trank — a lifelong Star Wars fan — resolved to take the job after coming up with a rough story for the Boba Fett standalone. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced Trank as the newest addition to the Star Wars family in the middle of Fantastic Four‘s production. However, after pulling double duty on Fantastic Four and Boba Fett for the next year, and with unrelated personal issues piling up on him, Trank began to read the writing on the wall.
After Trank’s initial cut of Fantastic Four left Fox brass scratching their heads, the film was essentially hijacked by company executives. Sending Fantastic Four‘s impending failure — which would go on to become the stuff of legend — Trank decided to cut his losses and step away from any directorial responsibilities, lest history be repeated with a future project.
At the time, Trank chalked his Lucasfilm exit up to a desire to “do something original” that was “below the radar” (via IndieWire). Today, he offers a different explanation. “I quit [the Boba Fett movie],” Trank told Polygon, “because I knew I was going to be fired if I didn’t quit.”
The official trailer for Yellowstone Season 3 is out, and it is full of meaty teases for us to digest!
Someone is buying land in the valley with the intent of building an airport, and as Beth says, they’ll build a city around that airport. That means all that they love is in jeopardy. Again.
Anyone who has watched their hometown move the airport away from the congestion of the city to greener pastures knows that the urban sprawl crawls directly to the airport.
With the Duttons already torn to shreds after the violent and unpredictable Yellowstone Season 2, so they’ll need all hands on deck to protect what’s theirs.
Beth was brutally attacked. Kayce and Monica temporarily lost their son to kidnappers. Jamie got so caught up in his lies and insecurities that he killed a woman in cold blood.
John Dutton, meanwhile, held himself accountable for every bit of it because, in ,his belief that his life was nearing the end, he’d begun to tune out.
With the new threats piling on top of old ones, we’re in for one helluva ride.
If you watch Yellowstone online, you know that of the most remarkable and joyful scenarios from the second season saw Beth and Rip leaning on each other more openly and with more passion.
Yellowstone Season 2 Episode 10 left that love on the table as Beth made her intentions clear. She’d always put the family first, and she believed losing the Yellowstone was in their best interests.
That meant that we had to worry just a smidge about Beth’s intentions toward our sweet Rip, and while the trailer proves they’re still in it and publically celebrating their connection, there is still room for pause.
Josh Holloway might be one of the only men on the planet who could charm his way up and over Cole Hauser’s Rip, and it sure looks like Roarke Carter is going to give it a try.
We’ll never know his intentions until we watch, but so far, they seem on the up and up. Time will tell.
At the beginning of the trailer, Jamie is pledging his allegience to his father and promising not to betray him, but by the end, he’s swinging his arms and screaming that he just gives and gives.
The summer’s number one drama returns Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2020, at 9pm ET/PT, only on Paramount Network.

Beginning on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10th at 1PM ET/PT, Paramount Network will air a season-one marathon featuring a sneak peek from the upcoming third season. How fitting is it that such a strong family drama is bookending the excitement with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day?
