Developers Psyonix has confirmed its plans to launch the big Rocket League free-to-play update this week. We already know that a ton of changes and content is being primed for servers, as well as a new event. So not only will there be a lot of new gamers able to download and play the game but the new revamped Season 1 will be going live too. Here’s what we know about when the new season out and when to expect Rocket League free to play to launch this week.
Developers Psyonix has confirmed that the Rocket League free to play release date has been set for Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
And the good news is that we know when everything will be going live for gamers on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Epic Games.
The Rocket League free to play update time has been set for 8am PDT on Wednesday, or 4pm GMT, if you live in the UK.
Here’s a little more information from Psyonix, who confirmed this week: “The wait for Rocket League’s free to play launch is nearly over.
“Get ready to take your shot on September 23 at 8 a.m. PDT (3 p.m. UTC). To celebrate, we’re also throwing an in-game event, Llama-Rama, soon after launch.
“September 23 is also the day you’ll find Rocket League available for download on its newest home: the Epic Games Store.
“You can visit the Rocket League page now, and add the game to your wishlist so you’re notified as soon as it’s available.
“If you add Rocket League to your library between September 23 and October 23 you will receive a $10 EGS coupon that is redeemable on games and add-ons $14.99 and up. Plus, once you download and launch the game, you’ll instantly get two new items in your inventory: Sun Ray Boost and Hot Rocks Trail.”
Psyonix has already released an update to sort out the launch of Rocket League on Epic Games, but it should be noted that something technical could still happen.
Problems on launch day are likely, especially when you consider all the exciting Season 1 content coming soon.
