Crash Bandicoot: On the Run, originally Crash Bandicoot Mobile, was first introduced earlier this year through a Facebook ad that showcased pieces of the game. Soon after, Crash Bandicoot Mobile had a soft release for Android users in select areas. The game was headed up by the game developer King, but with the official release King will be accompanied by Activision in Crash Bandicoot: On the Run’s official release.
The new announcement doesn’t come long after the release of the sequel to the mainline series Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about time to both Xbox and PS4. The new release left many fans speculating when the mobile game Crash Bandicoot: On the Run would release, but news has finally come. Since Pre-orders for Crash Bandicoot: On the Run have currently gone live on the App Store, it revealed a later day release date.
Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is set to release on both IOS and Google Play on March 25, 2021. The release date may change, especially with the outside influence of the pandemic, but as of right now that is when it is set to be released since it is indicated by King on their main page as well.
It will be free to play with in-app purchases such as The Barrel, The Crate, and The Vault; more info about in-app purchases will likely be released closer to the release of the actual game. The game itself will need internet access due to the capability to play with friends as shown in the trailer. With so many familiar bosses coming back to Wumpa Island you will have to kick, jump, and slide your way to victory in this exciting take on Crash Bandicoot.
If you’d like to check it out, you can pre-order Crash Bandicoot: On the Run on Google Play and the App Store, and if you pre-order on the App Store or Google Play you can receive an exclusive Crash mobile skin in the form of the blue hyena skin at launch.
