The champions are coming back to store shelves as their amiibo will be getting a re-release in November for the release of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Mipha, Revali, Daruk, and Urbosa will be available on November 20 to coincide with the game’s launch. How their figures will connect with Age of Calamity has not been disclosed as of yet, but we will be getting more details from Nintendo on September 26.

The figures were previously released when Nintendo’s magnum opus The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wowed fans in 2017. While it succeeded with its grand open world and engaging gameplay, the amiibo functionality was disappointing, to say the least.

When you tap any of these figures in BOTW, it gives you a few bonus items that will keep Link going on his adventure, like food, materials, and weapons. The coolest functionality with the amiibo is with the Wolf Link figure from Twilight Princess because it actually summoned a wolf to fight alongside you. Let’s hope Koei Tecmo and Nintendo are more outside of the box for this new Zelda title.

These amiibo figures won’t just work with Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity, however. They’re also compatible with Dark Souls Remastered, Bayonetta 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Kirby Star Allies, and many more titles to varying degrees.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild. Calamity Ganon is a huge threat to the land, and Zelda and company are preparing for a grand fight. It seems like this title will fill in some of the gaps that the last mainline Zelda title left wide open. The Zelda team and Koei Tecmo have worked very closely for this title during every step of the process, such as the graphics, dialogue, and gameplay direction—they didn’t work on Hyrule Warriors together as much as this one.

This will be quite the unique game for the Musou formula (Dynasty Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, etc) as it will make use of the expansive environments that Breath of the Wild is known for. Let’s hope this is a stand out title for Nintendo’s holiday season.
