Autumn has come to Pokémon Go, bringing with a range of berry-themed research tasks and the The Seasons Change timed research quest.
Deerling and Sawsbuck, normal and grass-type Pokémon from Gen 5, are also making their debut during this Autumn event, giving you the chance to add two new entries into your Pokédex.
There’s also a range of berry-based advantages for you to enjoy throughout this event and a selection of autumn themed Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild.
The Seasons Change is a special timed research questline running as part of the Autumn event in Pokémon Go.
It’s important to note that while the Autumn event is running between Friday, 9th October and Monday, 12th October, the timed research questline, The Seasons Change will end on Tuesday, 20th October.
Since The Seasons Change is a timed research questline, you must complete it before Tuesday, 20th October, because, if you don’t, you’ll never be able to collect all of the rewards.
The Seasons Change consists of four quest steps, with you being rewarded for every challenge and overall steps that you complete. The shortness of this quest stems from how it’s a timed research challenge, so, unlike non-timed research quests like A Mega Discovery, it’s designed to be completed in a short time period.
Below you’ll find all the steps and confirmed rewards for the The Seasons Change timed research quest in Pokémon Go. Due to this quest being timed research, you must complete it before Tuesday, 20th October if you want to earn all of the rewards.
This section does contain spoilers for the entirety of this timed research challenge, so, if you’d rather be surprised, we suggest skipping this section.
Alongside the above timed research quest, Pokémon Go’s Autumn event has a selection of berry-themed field research tasks that can be collected from spinning PokéStops.
As with previous events, these limited-time field research tasks are only available during the Autumn event, but you can hold onto these tasks and complete them after the event ends.
2020 has seen several new features in Pokémon Go – Mega Evolutions, the A Mega Discovery Special Research, the arrival of Rocket Balloons, the Go Battle League, Remote Raids and the trade evolution feature.
Pokemon Go also sees regular events – including weekly Spotlight Hour, monthly Field Research rewards and Pokémon Go Community Day.
Aside from the Timed Research quest, there’s a selection of bonuses you can take advantage of throughout the Autumn event in Pokémon Go.
These deer-inspired Pokémon are made unique in the Pokémon universe by how their appearance depends on which season they are catch in. This means that there are four variants for both Deerling and Sawsbuck.
While hunting for a Deerling, there’s range of berry bonuses that will be active throughout the Autumn event.
There’s a higher chance of you receiving berries from spinning the Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms during the Autumn event. The berries you feed to your Buddy Pokémon will also be twice as effective and the catch candy you receive from Pinap Berries will be doubled.
You’ll also have a higher chance of encountering Autumn themed Pokémon throughout this event – both in the wild and from 5km eggs.
Finally, this event marks the release of the shiny form for Kanto Vulpix and Ninetails, so keep your eyes for these fire-type Pokémon.
