Australian parents are racing to Woolworths to get their hands on the ultimate Christmas toy for their kids.

The chain is now selling a ‘mini supermarket’ toy set that comes complete with 47 accessories, including a cash register, scanner, shopping bags and toy groceries.

Excited shoppers noticed the new product on shelves, with dozens saying they are planning to surprise their kids with the make-believe shopping game.

‘It looks well worth [the money] to me,’ another said, a third added: ‘That’s going straight under the tree!’

The new product is 750mm high and 460mm wide, which is perfect for toddlers and children to play with.

‘With Christmas around the corner and parents starting to look for fun gifts that fosters creativity and imagination, we’ve introduced a mini Woolworths supermarket for all the fresh food kids in the making,’ a Woolworths spokesperson said.

‘They’re already proving to be a popular gift with customers and we expect them to be a big hit this Christmas.’
