Oddworld Inhabitants is one of those developers that has a special franchise and will always find an audience ready to receive it. Along those lines, Oddworld Inhabitants and publisher Microids will release action puzzle platformer Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty on Nintendo Switch on Oct. 27. Preorders for physical standard and limited editions have already begun at retail, and Nintendo Switch eShop preorders will open on Oct. 13. A new trailer commemorates the announcement.
Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is of course a remake of the original PlayStation 1 game from 1997. New ‘n’ Tasty itself originally released in 2014 on PlayStation 4, followed by releases on numerous other platforms, including even Wii U. Now it’s Nintendo Switch’s turn to get the remade classic. As Oddworld and Microids put it: “New ‘n’ Tasty serves up the freshest game ingredients such as organically grown and breathtakingly enhanced visuals and audio, grass-fed gameplay that is deeper and filled with piping hot delicious action, and a scrumptious story that if fans don’t eat up, the Glukkons may.” So, there ya go.
The Oddworld franchise is well represented on Nintendo Switch at this point, considering Stranger’s Wrath HD hit the console in January and Munch’s Oddysee arrived in May. Alas, no Abe’s Exoddus though.
