Developer Bamtang Games and publisher GameMill Entertainment revealed Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix this summer, a follow-up to Nickelodeon Kart Racers, and this one is looking to build on the 2018 original. Going by the trailers, it looks quite a bit better, at least visually. It’s being backed up with more modes and a large character roster too, which includes 30 racers and 70 crew members consisting of Nickelodeon favorites.
Whether it can edge closer to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains to be seen. However, it does provide another kart racing option on Switch. With this, MK8, Team Sonic Racing, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and more, there’s quite a selection of kart racers on the console these days. Anyway, here’s the launch trailer for Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix.
Along with the aforementioned characters, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix delivers five “all new and improved” modes across 28 tracks, with over 80 customization options for your kart. That seems like a healthy number of options, and combined with the improved visuals, it feels like a substantial improvement. (Looks can be deceiving though.) Grand Prix supports online and local multiplayer too, an expected inclusion in a modern-day kart racer.
Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix releases today, Oct. 6 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for $39.99. It is available physically and also digitally on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
