Not only does today mark the release of Star Wars: Squadrons and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, but there were several noteworthy news stories that made the rounds. Mediatonic revealed the release date of Fall Guys Season 2, EA is teasing a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster, NHL ’94 Rewind has been revealed as an NHL 21 preorder incentive, and more. Here’s the video game news you might’ve missed on Oct. 2, 2020.

One of the Wii U’s best games, Pikmin 3, is getting a second life on Nintendo Switch with Pikmin 3 Deluxe. Since most people missed out on this game the first time around, Nintendo has released a new trailer, explaining what Pikmin are and how they function in-game. It’s a quirky little video with lots of personality and cute illustrations, so check it out even if you’re on the fence about the new game. Pikmin 3 Deluxe will launch for Switch on Oct. 30.

It’s easy to love Nintendo, but sometimes the company makes some baffling decisions. Apparently, Nintendo recently stated that the ongoing Joy-Con drift issue (when your Joy-Con analog stick registers input without touching it, causing it to “drift”) that has plagued many Switch owners is not a “a real problem or hasn’t caused anyone any inconvenience.” This is according to law firm, Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith (as relayed by Redditor mittenscone). The law firm is currently seeking evidence from the community that Joy-Con drift is, in fact, a real issue. You can submit videos depicting Joy-Con drift in action to the email [email protected] Hopefully, these videos will be enough to mitigate the issue once and for all.

Those who preorder the upcoming NHL 21 will gain access to NHL ’94 Rewind at no additional cost, as announced on social media today. NHL ’94 Rewind will include “today’s rosters with controls and graphics from 1994,” according to EA Sports — giving players a major blast from the past for free. NHL 21 will release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 16 (Oct. 13 for some special editions), while NHL ’94 Rewind will be made available on Oct. 30. NHL ’94 originally released for SNES, Sega Genesis, and Sega CD.

Today, the Need for Speed Twitter account posted a curious image depicting a set of cars — one of which includes a license plate that reads “510.” Many fans believe this is teasing a reveal on the fifth of October for a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster. Why this entry in particular? Last week, a rating for the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster was discovered on Korea’s Games Rating Administration Committee, indicating that the potential forthcoming game will launch in November. This has not been confirmed, but seeing an official rating pop up is almost always a clear indication of what’s to come.

Earlier today, the official Fall Guys Twitter account announced the release date for the game’s second season. Fall Guys Season 2 will launch on Thursday, Oct. 8, come with new customization options, and feature a medieval theme with lots of costumes (like knights and dragons) to enjoy. Aside from that, developer Mediatonic has been relatively quiet about what else to expect from Season 2, but we’ll likely find out more next week as it gets closer to the update’s launch.

Announcing dates always feels like you’re cursing things, but it’s Halloween month, so let’s get cursed!

Season 1 will now end as Season 2 begins and we’re going to DOUBLE fame points during this time! 👀 pic.twitter.com/J9TFIZ1BDd
