Lenovo just unveiled another round of hardware available to consumers as early as September of this year that includes slim new gaming laptops, thinner workstation Ultrabook’s, and Google-powered tablet and smart clock experiences.

Starting with the least exciting of the new exciting unveil is the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i Ultrabook will come in two variants that include a 14 and 15-inch footprint and screens with even slimmer bezels as well as both sporting the latest Intel chips which presumably will be Tigerlake ones.

In addition to a new and slimmer profile, the Yoga Slim 9i will offer a genuine black leather cover option over the aerospace-grade, aluminum chassis combining both durability with “premium” fit and feel.

Under the new leather lid will be graphics options up to NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti with Max-Q Design.

The usual array of mid-to-late 2020 Ultrabook staples are also present such as 4K display panel pushing 400nits of brightness, Dolby Atmos speaker support, IR camera for Windows Hello bio-authentication, Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4 ports, and Bluetooth 5.0. Lenovo also claims the Yoga Slim 9i could get up to 20 hours of battery life (on the FHD option).

The Yoga Slim 9i represents the MacBook Pro of Lenovo’s Slim lineup which would put the Slim 9i (IdeaPad) in that middle MacBook Air appeal. The Slim 7i comes with a similar contoured glass 4K and FHD display options with VESA Display HDR and Dolby Vision support.

In addition to an IR camera for Windows Hello recognition, customers get an Ultrasonic Fingerprint reader, smart sense keyboard with ambient lighting controls, and Haptic Smart Sensor Touchpad that appears to be mimicking the haptics engine in the MacBook trackpads.

Moving on to even gaming, Lenovo is now adding its Legion lineup to the Slim portfolio with the Legion Slim 7i that will come with both 144 Hz and 60 Hz refresh panels, 4K clarity and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q graphics on a 15.6 display.

With the NVIDIA GeForce, graphics support gamers will be privy to real-time ray tracing in games as well as improved frame rates and reduced load times thanks to a combined Intel Tigerlake processor and 3200 MHz DDR4 memory.

Lenovo is also bringing its “world-class” TrueStrike keyboard with mechanical-like soft-landing switches and 1.3mm key travel to this device as well. The more dedicated among us can also opt for a dedicated Lenovo Legion BoostStation eGPU to push their device performance further.

While new laptops are always welcomed, it was Lenovo’s unveiling of its new Smart Clock Essential that has the interwebs aflutter as well as two new Android tablets. The first of the new tablets is the kid-friendly Tab M10HD with Kids Space from Google.

Lenovo and Google are collaborating to improve the tablet experience for kids’ learning and entertainment. We’re catering to the heart of family-first entertainment with the new Lenovo Tab M10 HD Gen 2 tablet, which debuts the Kids Space from Google, a new kids mode available first to market on Lenovo tablets launching with Android 10 and beyond this year.

The M10HD comes with easy to access Play, Watch, Make and Read tabs for teacher-approved apps and content from popular children’s books, games, and learning material.

For older users, Lenovo is also offering the Tab P11 Pro as the company’s stand-in for a Galaxy Tab 10 or above. Equipped with an 11.5-inch OLED display with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support all powered by a Snapdragon 730G mobile chip and Android 10, and hopefully upgradable to Android 11 when it drops.

Last is the new Lenovo Smart Clock Essential that is about as streamlined a Google experience as any Pixel offering from big G and perhaps the best expression of ambient assistance. Seemingly extending its design prowess from the fabric backplate of the Chromebook Duet, Lenovo created a similar fabric feel with its smart clock wrapped in 2/3 grey woven fabric. The 4-inch LED display is useful for looking up the time, checking timers, and the weather at-a-glance. Other than the limited display the smart clock has access to the brevity of Google Assistant as well as a quality set of speakers for reproducing crisp sound for music and Podcasts listening throughout the day.

Lenovo’s holiday line will be available as early September of this year for items such as the tablets and Smart Clock while others will be trickled out in October and November.
