It’s all going on in Coronation Street today – Scott holds up Ray and his friends with a gun, Craig gets shot and is left for dead and Johnny is also left in a life-threatening way after suffering an MS attack.

The trouble started for Johnny (Richard Hawley) when Scott (Tom Roberts) first arrived on the cobbles earlier this year.

It was revealed he had spent time in jail for a botched job the pair were involved years before which saw one man killed. After clearing the air, Scott decided to stay quiet and keep the landlord’s secret from his wife, Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).

Events have led up to tonight’s episode, which sees Johnny left alone, without help, and dangerously close to dying. What happens and will he survive?

As Scott has been plotting to scam Ray (Mark Frost), he has forced Johnny to help or risk Jenny finding out about his criminal past.

Johnny at first goes along with it, but before the deed can be done, in tonight’s episode he suffers an MS attack.

He begs Scott to grab his medication, but Scott smashes Johnny’s phone and then knocks him out before driving off to commit the robbery alone.

Actor Richard Hawley has spoken about the role, and doesn’t appear to have any intention to leave.

He has said: ‘I’m enjoying it [the story] hugely, it’s a different kind of story for me, it’s very much Johnny’s story and it’s great to work with other actors like Tom.

‘My stories so far have been very family based, with Aidan, Kate and Carla, then Johnny’s illness and his relationship with Jenny. This is something that’s taken place outside of all that yet threatens it all. It brings a whole new dimension to the character which is lovely for me to play.’

Still, viewers will have to tune in to find out what the future holds for Johnny
