With Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity exploring the backdrop to the apocalyptic narrative and setting of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it’s no surprise that Koei Tecmo wants to toss a little bonus to players who have experienced each game. As such, players who boot up Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild save data on their systems will enjoy a bonus Training Sword weapon. The announcement came straight from Nintendo of Canada during a weekend with plenty of gameplay footage from the upcoming Musou mash-up (you can check out videos of Impa and Daruk in action, and watch the emotional TGS trailer if you want).
If you have save data for The Legend of #Zelda: #BreathoftheWild on your #NintendoSwitch, you’ll receive the bonus Training Sword weapon for Link in #HyruleWarriors: Age of Calamity! pic.twitter.com/SxIfSky0YP
The uninspiring name combined with the unconvincing wooden design makes me think that this weapon won’t be too much to write home about, but it’s still a fun little way to show off that you’ve already been battle-tested by Ganon’s armies.
Are you excited for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity? Will you be grabbing it at launch in November, or holding off for a bit? Are you excited to explore the powerful kingdom that preceded the ruins we explored in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
