Hollyoaks has offered warning signs about PC George Kiss’s controlling behaviour after he got involved in the McQueens’ blackmail storyline.
Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) targeted John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) in his Seven Deadly Sins blackmail plot during Monday’s (November 9) first-look episode, with the teacher realising the sin of ‘greed’ was about him.
With John Paul having already used the money from stealing Kyle’s watch to pay off the last round of blackmail, he was desperate to come up with the cash to save himself next.
John Paul was still grappling with what he’d done to Nancy, as she approached him in the village to thank him for all of the support he’d shown since Kyle died.
When Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace) later warned the whole McQueen clan about the danger of keeping their secrets much longer, John Paul made a call to arrange a secret meeting.
It turns out that he’d arranged a clandestine talk with his boyfriend PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr) to confess to stealing Kyle’s watch in order to pay off the family’s blackmailer.
“Now, I’m being blackmailed for my pride. For taking this all on myself, for trying to sort this for my family,” he explained.
The PC agreed to empty his life savings in order to pay off his partner’s blackmailer and help in any way he could, with John Paul siding with George after James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) branded him a “sociopath”.
Once he’d run off James, PC Kiss demanded: “So, you’ll steer clear of James then? He’s a liar and a liability. You definitely do not want someone that toxic in your life.”
John Paul clearly felt under pressure, but ultimately agreed to stay away from James. With viewers having already seen that PC Kiss exhibited controlling behaviour in a past relationship, is John Paul in danger?
