The fifth Halo launch from Halo: The Master Chief Collection is here for PC players, with 343 Industries putting forth Halo 3: ODST this time. Interestingly, this is the same day that the original Xbox 360 version launched back in 2009, September 22.
The Halo 3: ODST package comes with a full campaign that takes players to New Mombasa prior to the events of Halo 3. While a dedicated multiplayer portion isn’t attached to this release, 343 Industries has brought back the original Firefight mode, which has been missing from the Master Chief Collection releases even on console. The Firefight mode has also been brought to the Xbox One version of Halo 3: ODST via an update today.
The PC version of the game comes included with an array of usual Halo: The Master Chief Collection enhancements as well, such as uncapped frame rates, 4K resolution support, FOV sliders, customizable controls, and more.
Apart from the new release, 343 Industries has also pushed out a new title update to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC. This delivers Halo 3 multiplayer hit-registration improvements, Season 3 of unlockable cosmetic content, as well as a huge number of bug fixes across all released games. Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC is available on the Microsoft Store and Steam with a $39.99 price tag. Like the other games in the bundle, Halo 3: ODST can also be bought separately, which comes in at $4.99 on the aforementioned stores. Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers now have complete access to the new game as well.
