Fortnite is experiencing a major outage today with users being greeted with a “you do not have permission to play” error message when they try to login online.

Independent outage Down Detector has registered a huge spike in Fortnite down reports today, recording thousands of reports of Fortnite down.

At the time of writing, downdetector.com has registered a peak of around 18,000 reports of Fortnite down.

While the Down Detector outage map has said today’s Fortnite server issues are affecting users mainly in the UK, Europe and US.

As the Fortnite issues hit Battle Royale players took to Twitter to report the permission error message they were receiving.

Another posted: “Why is it say that I do not have permission to play Fortnite when I log in”.

And another wrote: “What is wrong with Fortnite its says that I do not have permission to play for goodness sakes I’m 35”

As the Fortnite down reports started flooding in the official Fortnite Status Twitter confirmed that the game was experiencing issues.

And they also revealed that if you’re receiving the Fortnite permission error message then there’s no need to fret – you haven’t been banned, it’s just server troubles.

The @FortniteStatus Twitter account posted: “We’re investigating issues related to kicks and logins. We’ll provide an update when these are resolved.

“Players who see a message saying “You do not have permission to play Fortnite” or “Your account no longer has play access to Fortnite” because of this issue are not banned from Fortnite.”

In the Party Royale mode Dominic Fike took to the stage to play the hits from his debut album What Could Possibly Go Wrong.

The concerts on Saturday and Sunday took place as part of a series of Fortnite Presents weekly concerts.

There will be a second show which debuts oh September 19 and a final show on September 26.

Introducing the series of concerts, Epic Games said: “From our brand-new, state of the art studio in Los Angeles, CA, we’re spinning up a new live concert series in Party Royale. Get ready for Spotlight!

“For the debut of the Spotlight concert series, star singer, rapper, and songwriter Dominic Fike is ready to bring down the house with hits from his acclaimed LP debut, ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong.”

“Fike’s performance will be broadcast live in-game from the Party Royale Spotlight sound stage in Los Angeles, on Saturday, September 12.”
