Update, 3:07 p.m. AND: NASA and Northrop Grumman successfully completed a two-minute test fire of one of the solid rocket boosters that will help launch the Space Launch System rocket. All appeared to go well, but teams will evaluate data from the test moving forward.
Watch live as NASA and Northrop Grumman target Wednesday afternoon for the test fire of a Space Launch System solid rocket booster in Promontory, Utah.
The two-minute 3:05 p.m. ET test will demonstrate the booster’s performance in helping power the future SLS rocket, which is designed to carry the Orion capsule and astronauts to the moon and beyond as part of NASA’s Artemis program.
Booster segments for the first uncrewed test launch of Artemis, slated for no earlier than late 2021, arrived at Kennedy Space Center in June.
