The open-world racer Forza Horizon 4 will arrive on Xbox Series X and Series S at launch, flaunting its 4K visuals at 60fps.

Among a host of Xbox Series X gameplay shorts is Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 4 preview. Featured in a selection of videos by Xboxdynasty, AR12Gaming, MKIceAndFire, and Gamersyde Official, Forza’s enhanced gameplay invites you to drift into next-gen.

Titles including Sea of Thieves and Observer: System Redux have already been showcased in its optimized state, with first party Xbox One titles like Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Gears 5 joining the lineup. The open-world racer Forza Horizon 4 will arrive on Xbox Series X and Series S at launch, flaunting its 4K visuals at 60fps. While that all sounds delightful on paper, what fans really wanted to see was some gameplay, which multiple sources have already supplied for us.

Starting off with Gamersyde Official’s gameplay, Forza Horizon 4 looks beautiful and runs smoothly. Cruising through 4K scenery at top speed, the content creator offers a perfect showcase of the game’s faster frame rate and impressive graphics. The video also includes Forza Horizon 4’s Halo Experience Race, which is an exhilarating journey from start to finish. The Halo Experience has a lot going on to begin with, and combined with the racer’s optimization, it is hard to concentrate on the actual driving.

MKIceAndFire consists of a handy compilation of courses from the 4th installment, including a glimpse of Forza’s seasonal changes that featured its picturesque winter wonderland. Xboxdynasty’s gameplay focuses on load times, demonstrating how long it took to switch between vehicles. To add to Forza’s impressive visuals, its car switch load times came in at around one second.

Lastly, AR12Gaming compares Forza Horizon 4 running on the Xbox Series X and Xbox One X. Where Microsoft’s next-gen console offers both optimized graphics and enhanced frame rate, the Xbox One X had players choose between the system’s graphics or performance mode. Nick from AR12Gaming also pointed out the “Minecraft road” in the Xbox One X gameplay, comically calling attention to the next-gen console’s enhancements.

Elsewhere, the Xbox Games Showcase revealed our first look at the next chapter of Forza Motorsport back in the summer, which was met with enthusiasm from racing-sim fans. No doubt more comparison videos will appear when the Xbox Series X releases next week in order to further demonstrate the technical evolution of the console.

Jo recently got served a nostalgia trip playing Sony’s Spider-Man, as it brought back the exhilarating feeling of web-slinging from the PS2 days. While the giddiness of gaming still remains, Jo has put the adult brain to good use by spending the last few years dissecting the games industry and marveling at its insides.
