Why trust us?
You’re a living, breathing human being, and that means you have emotions on the reg. Sometimes, though, those feelings come out in full force. Get ready, because “sometimes” is right about… now
Your sudden need for a box of tissues and a big, fluffy pillow is all thanks to the full moon happening on September 2, 2020. This full moon is called the Full Corn Moon, and it’s going on in the sign of Pisces.
During this full moon, you’ll be a little more emotional than usual around…just about everything in your life, according to Donna Page, a certified astrologer in Atlanta. It’s not a bad thing, per se—just don’t be floored if you end up tearing up after you finish season three of Selling Sunset. But, of course, there’s a lot more to it than that.
Here’s what else your zodiac sign can expect from the Full Corn Moon in Pisces, plus how it can affect your ~future~.
Quick astronomy recap: The moon has different phases and, during a full moon, it looks like a big, round ball in the sky.
The Algonquin people, who were prominent along the Atlantic Coast and into the interior along the St. Lawrence River and around the Great Lakes, traditionally named each full moon. This full moon got its name because it usually signaled that it was time to harvest the corn crop, according to the Farmer’s Almanac.
This particular full moon can give you some complicated emotions, and it’s all thanks to Venus, which is in a complicated pattern in the sky, Page says. You’ll find yourself longing to shelve the stressors of the world and chill. Your phone, the news, your BFF’s never-ending relationship drama—you just need a friggin’ break.
On the love front, you’ll be all about creating some super romantic vibes with your partner, with a heavy at-home slant. So, simple stuff like sharing a bottle of wine on your stoop, watching a new movie while cuddled under a blanket, and listening to music together will be huge for you. It won’t be 100-percent blissful though (sorry). Now is a great time to work through whatever issues you’ve been struggling with.
At the same time, Venus is positioned exactly in line with Saturn, making you wonder why it can be so tough sometimes for you to get what you want. Let’s be real, only you know the answers to that one. Oh, and Venus is square with Mars, creating a weird feeling of wanting more in life, but not ~necessarily~ wanting to work hard for it. Unfortunately, that new job isn’t going to apply for itself, so… get to it.
The full moon will impact all zodiac signs, but Pisces, Cancer, and Virgo will feel it the most.
Opening yourself up to experiencing a range of emotions now—and allowing yourself to totally embrace your feelings—can help you to come out of the full moon a more well-rounded and emotionally healthy person. So, there’s that.
Also, recognizing when you just can’t anymore is a vital skill to pick up during this time that you can use again (and again and again) going forward.
And, while it’s kinda-totally the opposite of fun, taking some time to really work through issues that you and your S.O. have been dealing with will help you both create a smoother, more connected future together.
As for your work life, well, you can’t be all in, all the time. It’s perfectly okay to decide that you want to get somewhere career-wise, and then feel like you want to wait for it to actually happen. Just don’t wait for it to magically happen, mkay? Instead, take a break when you need to, so you can then put in the effort when it matters most.
The next full moon is on October 1, 2020 in the sign of Aries. During this time, you might feel a little more rushed-slash-busy than usual. But channel that energy right, and you’ll get a ton o’ stuff done.
Until then, enjoy the emotional rollercoaster. The more you let yourself feel, the more you’ll learn about yourself.
