The new Renault Megane RS TC4 is so radical that it is not allowed to run on the road.
In the range of the Renault Megane RS, there was the basic version at 280 horses, the Trophy variant at 300 horses and the extreme Trophy R with its chassis lightened to the maximum. But none of these sports cars come close to the new Megane RS TC4, true circuit version of the French compact.
The Renault Sport brand lifts the veil on this special series of its model, whose production will be limited to 30 copies. It is actually a derivative of the Megane RS TCR, a racing car entered in the touring championships and prepared by the Swiss structure Vukovic Motorsport. Like the latter, she has an engine 4 turbo cylinders 2,0 liters pushed to 360 horses (is 60 more than a Megane RS Trophy). It also benefits from a completely reworked chassis adapted for extreme riding. On the other hand, it ignores the sequential gearbox of the Megane TCR : transmission side, the TC4 uses an EDC dual clutch gearbox, with optimized settings for the track.
This Megane RS TC4 is apparently not approved for the road, and should therefore be limited to use on a circuit. Thought above all for track-days, it should cost a little less than 100 000 euros but Renault has not yet communicated its price.
