This year’s Minecon replacement – Minecraft Live – is taking place this year on 3rd October and promises to feature plenty of updates and scoops about the insanely popular sandbox game.
That’s not all, though. In addition to this, the team will reveal the next big Minecraft game update. Here’s exactly what Mojang’s chief storyteller Lydia Winters had to say:
“Normally you’d have to wait until the end of the show to find out the next big Minecraft game update, but this year we’re doing things differently and kicking things off with the announcement of the…I’m not going to tell you right now. But I’ll just say, you don’t want to miss the beginning of the show.”
As noted, this is related to the “next big Minecraft game update”, so in other words – try not to get your hopes up for a Steve for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announcement, even if Microsoft really digs Nintendo’s all-star brawler.
Alongside this update, Mojang will also allow the community to vote for a new mob to enter the game. To find out more information about this upcoming live show, visit Minecraft.net. Below are the global times:
When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games. His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat.
Man, lots of things to speculate about lately. I mean, we just had that rumor that by October 4th, we would know who’s the next Smash chara—
This sounds like “But it’s fine to miss the mid and end show…. it’s just meh.”
But in all seriousness, I like MC, even though I haven’t put hardly any time into it. More additions and stuff are usually good.
I’d love to see Minecraft get some form of representation in Super Smash Bros., even if it was just some Mii costumes. I highly doubt we’d see such a reveal at this event, since Nintendo would probably want to reveal it themselves, but with the lack of big Directs this year, anything is possible.
