Halloween is just around the corner, and many players are already looking at the best horror games to play for this event. The problem, is that there are already many to choose from.
Halloween season is a great time to play spooky games. Over the years, there have been a lot of great titles that deserve to be called "scarier". Of all, we find these three titles to be the best way to spend Halloween.
Of all the games on this list, Dead By Daylight is perhaps the most different of all. This game is the only one to be a multiplayer experience, but that doesn't mean he's scary. This is an isometric horror game that pits survivors against player-controlled enemies, called the Killers.
The characters in this game are from different horror franchises, dont Left 4 Dead, IT, Saw, and many others. Killers have various powers to use while survivors are left helpless. The goal is to survive and escape before the time runs out or before the killer eliminates all players.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent may be a few years old, but that doesn't mean it isn't scary anymore. In fact, this survival horror game that sparked the rise of a new genre of horror is still one of the scariest to date. Unlike the horror games that came before it, the players are defenseless. Players try to keep their mental and health at a high level while avoiding the monsters.
There is also a sequel called Amnesia : Rebirth, which will be launched on 20 next october. The game trailer shows what appears to be a very similar experience but in a completely new setting. Of course, it will be a must-see title when it launches on PlayStation 4 and PC.
Outlast is deeply inspired by Amnesia. Like Amnesia, players will be defenseless in all three Outlast games. Instead of using a lamp to keep the light on, Outlast players need to save their camera batteries in order to have something to see in the dark.
These horror games are enough to give any gamer a thrill. Of all, it's Amnesia Rebirth that gets everyone talking. Apart from these titles, there are a ton of other modern and classic games to check out.
I'm in my thirties and I'm what is commonly referred to as a "Big Geek". I spend my time between testing high-tech gear and playing my good old retro consoles. If one of my tips has been helpful to at least one person ... well, it's always better than nothing 😉
