The latest map change in Fortnite Season 4 is here, as the Rift Beacon has opened up to reveal the Marvel Collector Museum on the battle royale island.
The Marvel theme is fully taking over in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 4, and we’re really only just getting started.
As well as skins and other cosmetics, the most notable changes are physical additions to the map. This started with the Season 4 update itself, followed by the Black Panther statue and more in the next update.
Now, on September 6, another addition has gone live, this time Marvel’s Collector Museum has spawned in.
As well as the new POI, another Rift beacon has moved into a new stage, which presumably will bring in the next addition to the map.
What exactly this will be, we don’t know yet, but expect even more substantial changes on the way.

All of this ties into the lore too, as the various superheros are believed to be taking control of certain parts of the map, in preparation for the fight with Galactus.
Fortnite Season 4 saw some of the fan-favorite characters leave the Battle Royale island. No, we’re not talking about Kit or Jules. We’re talking about the Henchmen that we’ve been impersonating for the better part of a year.
Now, all that’s left is Doom’s Henchmen, which only appear as a skinny version of Doom, himself. There’s little chance that these Henchmen will be what we remember from the NPC days of Fortnite.
One post of the r/FortniteBR subreddit revealed that Shadow Henchmen aren’t entirely gone, however. u/TheDarkFabledSaber posted a clip of Doom emoting to his followers. The strange part was that the user was wearing a Shadow disguise.
Apparently, certain skins disagree with Doom’s teachings and opt to turn into Shadow skins, instead. This is more than likely a bug that’s triggered by a handful of skins, but we like to think it has something to do with the Fortnite plot.
The same user posted a tutorial on how to turn yourself into a Shadow Henchmen. All you need to do is visit the phone booth in Doom’s Domain while wearing a specific skin. This user chose Peely and Agent Peely, but these aren’t the only skins that allow for the unique transition.
According to the comments, the following skins also cause you to transform into a Shadow Henchmen rather than a Doom Henchmen:
There are probably more skins that cause this reaction, but these are the only ones that we know about. We’ve also seen players claim that this happens with any skin, randomly, but we went in with a Thor skin and didn’t get this reaction. Either way, here’s a nice little piece of nostalgia that may impress your friends. Enjoy!
Fortnite Season 4 is here, bringing us some new challenges and even more ways to unlock specific styles for our favorite skins. This week, diligent Fortnite players will be close to unlocking Groot – some may have already done so.
Groot’s Awakening challenges are quite easy – especially when you compare them to that of Thor and She-Hulk. You only need to visit two locations on the map, so you can finish this one in two games. Here are the challenges that you need to complete, along with a map of where to find them:
For the first challenge, all you need to do is land on the heart-shaped island off the coast of Holly Hedges. You’ll see a thin beam of light coming down, pointing you to where you’ll need to plant the seed.
The “Friendship Monument” is actually a cute reference to the past seasons of Chapter 2. The Hayman from Frenzy Farm and Pipeman from the south of the map have finally met, and are high-fiving outside of Sweaty Sands. This is where you’ll need to use the built-in Groot emote to spawn his unique backbling, Rocket Racoon.
After that, you can move onto the next set of challenges. As we said, Groot offered little trouble, as expected. He’s one of the more relaxed heroes on the Marvel roster.
Keep in mind that these challenges won’t be available right away. You’ll need to unlock Groot and then wait another eight levels to unlock his Awakening challenges. If you haven’t saved Baby Groot yet, you can take a look at our guide to that challenge here. As always, we’ll keep you covered with more hero challenges as the weeks unfold.
Fortnite Season 4 brought us a fresh new theme and meta that helped to revitalize a relatively stagnant chapter. Of course, the new season didn’t launch bug-free. You’d be hard pressed to find any video game that releases a major patch without any issues.
To Epic’s credit, however, the bugs in Fortnite Season 4 are almost all under the surface. In other words, there’s a very small chance that you’ll trigger any of these bugs by accident. You’d have to be seeking out an exploit to cause one of these game-breaking problems.
There’s one particular bug in Fortnite that’s a bit too powerful to stay in the game for too long. We’re talking about a “God mode” exploit. We’ve seen this in Fortnite before, and we have another one for Fortnite Season 4.
Unlike similar glitches from other seasons, however, this bug is far less useful than it might sound. Glitch King – one of the YouTubers to showcase the bug – starts his video by writing, “This is one of the most broken glitches. It have [sp] been out for more than 3 days and still didn’t get patched!” This statement is hyperbolic, though, because using the glitch forces you to stand in place.
We’ve seen similar glitches to this one, before. To do it, all you need to do is find a haystack and bring it to one-shot. Now, jump into the stack from a few floors above and shoot it right before entering – making it disappear. Make sure you have a car next to you, as you’ll now only be able to move while driving the vehicle.
As you can see, this glitch isn’t as useful as Glitch King makes it sound. Yes, you’re invulnerable to enemy fire, but not to storm damage. If you don’t have a car, you’re stuck in one spot and will eventually die. Glitch King also showcases the flying ability that happens if someone destroys your car. What he doesn’t mention is that you’ll continue to fly until you reach the storm ceiling and die.
This glitch seems like an interesting way to freak people out but not a great way to win. You’re probably better off playing a normal match rather than standing in a single spot – unable to move without the help of a nearby car or chopper that someone could easily destroy.
The glitch will likely get fixed but doesn’t seem to cause much of a problem in-game. We don’t think that this one will be ban-worthy, but complete the glitch at your own risk. Again, you’ll probably have a better shot at actually winning if you play a normal match.
