Long booed for wasting the potential of Star Wars on our consoles, EA has come a long way. Because after the Battlefront II controversy and its pay-to-win microtransactions, the studio edited Jedi Fallen Order. An offline experience praised by gamers and canon in the Star Wars timeline, kind of mixture (more accessible) entre Dark Soul’s et The Witcher, with platform. EA then released Squadrons, shooter reserved for fans of this kind of experience. Suffice to say that the company is on a good roll as persistent rumors point to a new Star Wars game in development.
If a new Star Wars game is not in the works, Motive has a special project in the works.
Disney had explained wanting to strengthen the Star Wars brand on our consoles. For that, the giant is counting on another giant to make the license grow, SHE. Recently, several media have found an ad posted by Motive (EA studio behind Battlefront II and Squadrons) to recruit new employees with the objective of a Star Wars action game. Despite this publication, the studio denies today in a tweet, visible below.
Due to human error (hey, it happens !), we saw a lot of rumors. Although we are not currently working on a new Star Wars game, we are working on something quite specific.
Motive advises players to subscribe to their account or come back later to find out what the studio is up to. This does not mean, however, that a Star Wars game is not in development., the project could be in the hands of another studio owned by EA. Respawn developed Jedi Fallen Order, be an ideal candidate.
With his last two Star Wars games, EA seems on the right track. Well received by the players, the latter stand in stark contrast to the failure of Battlefront II, tinged with controversy. This game offered too many pay-to-win microtransactions. A shame for a proposed online game 69,99 euros on release.
