Team sports will be banned in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus, an announcement that should be made this Monday by the Legault government, but the training centers, on their side, will they be able to remain open without constraints?
The question worries the community and the clients, for whom the gym session has become a must since their reopening, for both physical fitness and mental health, even more so in this period of particularly difficult pandemic for the morale of some.
If it seems that individual sports and training should still be allowed, even in the red zone, some conclude that the gyms could remain open, but nothing is certain.
For Gabriel Hardy, owner of Le Chalet gym, gym training is essential and offers a host of health benefits.
"When you direct a client, it's not fair to do a bicep workout, triceps… You have to look at overall health. How to help a person improve, prevent chronic diseases, treat obesity, heart disease, type diabetes 2, prevent depression. This is a wide range of benefits that physical activity provides, including training ", he maintains in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.
Customers met on site, many of which are teleworking and distance learning, said that going to the gym became their only outing.
"Everyone stays home more these days, people are isolated. Just a change of atmosphere, be directed, meet your trainer, talk, ask for advice… A trainer, it’s not just someone who is going to give you exercises! Physical activity reduces stress a lot, we are dealing with a glaring problem in society ", pleads M. Hardy.
According to preliminary information obtained by TVA Nouvelles, individual sports, in duet and in training, should continue to be allowed.
