Codemasters has unveiled a new DiRT 5 racing game mode called Playgrounds. In it, gamers can create, share, and arrange races in custom arenas.
In Playgrounds, players will be able to create tracks for every taste thanks to a wide selection of elements: from drift zones and springboards to rings of fire and dead loops. Each arena can be designed for one of three types of races: Smash Attack (find and collect the correct objects as quickly as possible), Gate Crasher (pass checkpoints at maximum speed), and Gymkhana (arenas with jumps, turns, etc.).
Mode tools will allow you to create tracks not only in the horizontal plane but also in roads that rush to the heavens. For example, in areas such as Gymkhana, it will be possible to make a section in the form of a floating island, which can be reached only after good acceleration. Of course, any car from DiRT 5 will also be available in Playgrounds, including extreme off-road vehicles, modern rally cars, and sprint cars.
DiRT 5 will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 16. Until the end of the year, the game will also go on sale on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The version for the Google Stadia cloud service will appear in early 2021.
