For a very specific age group, this Ben 10: Power Trip launch trailer from publisher Outright Games and developer PHL Collective might be pretty exciting. The game is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, offering an open world and the potential for two-player co-op gameplay with Ben 10 and rival Kevin 11. The two team up to battle aliens across Europe and defeat “the evil magician Hex.” Along the way, they will also uncover the secrets of four “mysterious crystals ” with the power to control the world.
In a nutshell, Ben 10: Power Trip is about transforming into powerful aliens like Diamondhead, Four Arms, and Heatblast to defeat enemies and solve puzzles, all while collecting power-ups, completing missions, and chatting with townspeople. On paper, it sounds like a lot of fun. In practice, well, we know what a mixed bag licensed video games can be. Still, the launch trailer looks pretty decent.
PHL Collective’s Ben 10: Power Trip is far from the only licensed game Outright Games has in production with its developers right now. Transformers: Battlegrounds launches on Oct. 23, plus PAW Patrol: Mighty Pups on Nov. 6, and Trollhunters Defenders of Arcadia launched last month. Trollhunters is apparently receiving a rough reception on Nintendo Switch. We’ll see if any of these other games can do better.
