Fortniteâs Marvel season, Chapter 2, season 4, has just launched, and players are discovering all the wild surprises in the game now including battle pass superhero skins with actual superpowers, and a changed map with some themed landmarks.
There isnât like a ton of new stuff on the map like when we got five new spy bases, but it seems like there are going to be more things added in time according to a bit of datamining, and for now, thereâs still a good amount to explore.
Well, this isnât exactly a new POI, as instead itâs the new launching lobby area where players can mess around before a fight. My guess is there might be a secret or two hiding in the Helicarrier, but I havenât found any in my first few games here, and you only have a minute or so to explore. While you can see the Helicarrier from the regular map, you canât get back there.
Doctor Doom is a battle pass skin and so far, is the only hero with a POI all to himself. Pleasant Park has been replaced with Doomâs Domain, which features a spooky house, a statue and an underground base complete with a vault that needs a Dr. Doom keycard to enter. Defeating Dr. Doom is actually one of the challenges this week.
Up in the mountains there is a bunch of dead Sentinels all hanging out in what appeared to be some sort of battle that took place there, but who killed them? I have no idea, and we have about seven different superheroes to choose from, so itâs anyoneâs guess. This isnât a named POI, but itâs cool to discover all the same.
Every match there are now randomized Quinjet locations marked on the map shortly after the boss launches. Theyâre parked on the ground and filed with robots than will try to kill you, unless you kill them first. There is loot at these locations, including a big chest inside the Quinjet itself, and the robots drop a Stark Industries rifle, showing that Tony once again canât stop his tech from getting into the wrong hands.
There are other Marvel themed, challenge-based things around like Bifrost locations and Claw Marks for Wolverine, but those appear to be the âbiggestâ map additions so far. My guess is there are more easter eggs scattered across the map that we simply havenât found yet, in addition to other stuff that will be added as the weeks go on. But pretty solid start for this Marvel themed season, if you ask me. Off to explore some more.
