Public health authorities are asking anyone who visited Dooly’s billiard hall in St-Hyacinthe on Oct. 14 and 15 to get tested for COVID-19.

“That establishment hosted a billiard tournament and a Halloween party where physical distancing measures were not respected,” the Montérégie public health department wrote in a statement published Monday.

At least four people were infected and dozens of others are waiting for test results for the virus.

“It is therefore possible that people who were at Dooly’s could have contracted the illness without taking part in the contest or the Halloween party,” the statement said.

Bars and restaurants in the St-Hyacinthe area and throughout the Montérégie were shut down on Oct. 16, as the region came under red zone restrictions, the highest alert for the spread of the coronavirus.

A testing clinic has been set up at the Pavillon La Coop, where people can get a test without an appointment. It’s also possible to make an appointment at other centres by calling 1-877-644-4545. Dooly’s owner André Blais was not available for an interview from a Presse Canadienne reporter on Monday afternoon.
