More and more companies are joining the mobile gaming genre. Reports reveal that tech company Lenovo is also working on its own gaming smartphone under the Legion branding, and it’s something that mobile gamers will want to watch out for when it releases.

Here’s what the new gaming device could feature, according to videos that XDA Developers acquired from a “trusted source,” as well as from several reports on the internet.

First, the device will offer a “gamer aesthetic” that will appeal to gamers. Its back cover looks like smooth metal, and it heavily features symmetrical designs, as evidenced by the rear cameras, speakers, and the Y-shaped design centered at the back of the phone. The Y-shaped design is likely to light up using LEDs, XDA Developers noted.

The device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 865 SoC and will have UFS 3.0 internal storage and LPDDR5 RAM. The memory allocation is not clear at the moment.

The Lenovo Legion phone will likely have a flat display with 144Hz refresh rate. It’s currently unclear if the display is LCD or OLED, but it will likely offer FHD+ resolution with 2,340 x 1,080 pixel resolution and 270Hz touch sampling rate.

It is expected to run on Android 10, but with Lenovo’s ZUI 12 customizations on top. XDA said Lenovo will likely market the UI as “Legion OS.”

The device will have a 5,000 mAh dual-cell battery. Lenovo claimed in the device’s official website that it will have ultra-fast 90W wired charging, which can charge a battery from 0-100% in 30 minutes. The company also claims that the device can be charged using any of its two USB-C ports – one at the bottom and the other on the side.

Interestingly, the device only has two rear cameras (a 64MP shooter and a 16MP wide-angle lens). These are located at the center of the back of the phone, which adds to the overall symmetrical design.

What’s even more interesting is the device’s 20MP front-facing camera. Unlike other devices that have pop-up cameras on top, this device has a selfie cam that pops up from the side of the phone.

The device also has other interesting specs such as cooling mechanisms, specially-designed audio features, and more.

Lenovo hasn’t given an official release date for the device yet. That said, interested parties can go to the company’s official Weibo account for the device (in Chinese) if they want to see more.
