Caprice, 48, who had a benign brain tumour removed three years ago, said she has reached out to The Wanted singer Tom Parker, who revealed his terminal bran cancer diagnosis on Monday
Model Caprice has revealed she has contacted The Wanted’s Tom Parker following his terminal brain tumour diagnosis.
Tom announced the heartbreaking news on Monday he had been diagnosed with a terminal and inoperable tumour.
Tom who is expecting his second child with wife Kelsey, told Ok! the family were « devastated » but vowed to « raise awareness » of the « terrible disease ».
Caprice, 48, also discovered she had a benign brain tumour three years ago and was forced to have it removed, before later becoming a patron of Brain Tumour Research charity.
The model has told that when she heard the news she got in touch with the family to offer her support.
She told The Sun : « It felt like the right thing to do. I don’t know him, but I felt deeply for him because I’ve been right there.
« Most people have no idea that brain cancer is the top cancer killer of those under 40. »
Speaking with her work with Brain Tumour Research, which works to promote more research into the killer disease, Caprice said: « We have to find a cure for this evil, evil disease. I want to say to Tom and anyone else in his position, don’t give up… »
She said that « giving up is not an option », and they are not « just empty words » – they came from her soul ».
Caprice’s tumour risked leaving her blind and paralysed. She received her diagnosis when she was filming TV series The Jump in Innsbruck in February 2017.
Since making the heartbreaking announcement, Tom has been inundated with messages and support from his fan base.
Taking to social media this week, Tom shared an image of his OK! magazine cover while thanking fans for their support and positivity.
The singer concluded: « We are fighting this – thanks to everyone behind us fighting alongside us. Let’s do this. »
Tom was instantly flooded with messages, including one from fellow Wanted star Max George, who wrote: « You got this. »
Tom has a grade four glioblastoma and although he is undergoing treatment, the diagnosis is terminal.
