Ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s release next month, Activision has now announced a new Zombies game mode coming to the sub-franchise’s fifth installment named Onslaught, along with the news that it’ll be a 12-month exclusive for PlayStation.
According to the developers, Onslaught is “a two-person, fast-paced Zombies experience” which will place you in various locations derived from a number of the upcoming game’s Multiplayer maps. You’ll have access to your custom loadouts, which you’ll use together with your fellow operator to fight off waves of undead while being confined to a specific area on the map defined by a Dark Aether Orb. The more zombies you kill, the more it powers the Orb, which will subsequently move around, forcing you to fight across different parts of the map as the difficulty increases.
Unfortunately for fans of the game, Onslaught mode will be an exclusive to both the PlayStation 4 and 5 for the first 12 months, with Xbox and PC players gaining access to it only on November 1, 2021.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will arrive November 13 to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Elsewhere in gaming, Rambo joins Mortal Kombat 11 in the game’s latest DLC.
