It’s been long since Fortnite has evolved past being just the world’s biggest battle royale. Following the introduction of Party Royale, the game’s non-battle royale mode that served as a place for players to gather and witness global events, like Travis Scott and Steve Aoki concerts. At one point, Epic even held a screening of three of Christopher Nolan’s biggest movies in the game.
Now, the biggest game in the world will be a stage for one of the biggest musical groups in the world: BTS. The award-winning K-Pop group is set to debut the music video (or MV) for their latest single, ‘Dynamite.’
As part of the event, two new emotes, choreographed by BTS, will be added to the game. Following the event, players will also be able to play a special game mode in Fortnite Creative that will recreate elements of the music video as an interactive experience, complete with mini-games and various objectives related to the music video for players to complete.
This announcement comes in the midst of Epic Games’ very public feud with Apple. While the legal battle between the two rages on, Epic Games has largely maintained a business as usual in the game after their ‘198Fortnite. Most recently, the game featured a season based largely around Marvel Comics characters and storylines. Fortnite is even beginning to crossover into other games, most recently with a slate of skins inspired by the game’s iconic Battle Bus appearing in Rocket League.
The ‘Dynamite’ music video is set to debut in Party Royale this Friday, September 25 at 8 PM Eastern Time, but for people who won’t be able to make it to the first performance, Epic plans to host the event again. The second showing of the music video will take place the next day, Saturday, September 26 at 8 AM Eastern Time.
