AMD has released a new Adrenalin display driver version 20.10.1 which adds support for multiple new and upcoming games. The driver is optimized for Bethesda’s new Doom expansion titled Doom Eternal: Ancient Gods Part One which releases today. It also adds support for Ubisoft Toronto’s Watch Dogs: Legion which is set to release about a week from now.
Among titles that are already out, the Adrenalin 20.10.1 driver brings Dirt 5 as well as World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Pre-Patch optimizations.
Audio may experience instability when connected through an Audio Video Receiver via HDMI® on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products.
Desktop may experience frame rate fluctuation when exiting a Vulkan® API game with Radeon FreeSync enabled on two or more display system configurations.
Some specific Windows® screensavers such as ‘Bubbles’ may cause an application crash when applied on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products.
Graphical corruption may occur on desktop or at idle when two or more connected high refresh rate displays are Radeon FreeSync enabled on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products.
Upgrading to Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition releases from Radeon Software 2019 Edition releases via Radeon Settings may sometimes fail with an error message.
Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
Performance Metrics Overlay and the Performance Tuning tab incorrectly report higher than expected idle clock speeds on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products. Performance and power consumption are not impacted by this incorrect reporting.
You can download the new 20.10.1 driver directly via the following links:
Windows 10 64-bit
Windows 7 64-bit
Or, you could also try updating your driver from the Radeon settings app on your PC which will appear like this:
Just make sure to turn on the “Recommended + Optional” settings since not all drivers are WHQL certified,
As usual, the Radeon 20.10.1 driver is compatible with all AMD GPUs from the HD 7000(M) series and up, as well as AMD APUs from E-series and up. While this driver should be also compatible with mobile systems, AMD recommends rolling back to OEM-provided drivers if any issue occurs.
AMD also urges users to actively report bugs and issues using the “Launch Bug Report Tool” which can be found in the System tab in the Radeon settings app.
AMD has also released new chipset drivers for both desktops (Sockets AM4, X399 and TRX40) and mobile users (Socket FP5). Hence the driver is compatible with all motherboards and AMD CPUs/APUs released since 2017. These are supposed to fix chipset driver installation errors on certain language packs. AMD states that other improvements have also been made to the chipset driver without going into further detail.
