TL;DR: Sling TV gives you live TV without a cable bill, and you can save $10 on your first month or get a free AirTV Mini if you prepay two months, as of Sept. 4.
You probably cut the cord ages ago and traded cable for streaming with a smart TV or streaming stick, but maybe you’re now missing live TV and sports. You can get those back without buying a full-blown cable package and dropping hundreds of dollars each month.
Sling TV is a nice in-between of streaming and cable â you get a selection of the top channels and don’t have to sift through the random ones you’d never watch. And you even get DVR space.Â
As of Sept. 4, Sling TV is running a couple of deals through the Labor Day weekend. Typically, Sling costs $30 per month, but you can save $10 on your first month if you become a new subscriber this weekend and you’ll get a free month of Showtime, Starz, and Epix. New members will also gain access to Sports Extra, which includes 13+ sports channels; or you can get a free AirTV Mini (like a Roku or Fire TV Stick, but for Sling) when you prepay two months.
Sling has two packages to choose from depending on the type of content you like to watch. Sling Blue is more focused on news and entertainment while Sling Orange will give you more sports and family-oriented channels. Both are $30 per month and during Labor Day weekend. You’ll score each for $20 and get access to Showtime, Starz, and Epix for a month. Think of all the movies you can watch.
If you don’t have a smart TV, but want to get Sling, the AirTV Mini lets you add Sling to any TV in your home. Not only will you have all your channels at your fingertips, but you’ll also get access to apps like Netflix, YouTube, and more.
